Banagas Achieves 8 Million Man-Hours Without Lost Time Accidents

The Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas) achieved another milestone by completing 8 million man-hours without any lost time accidents on 6th March 2022.

 

This outstanding achievement reflects the vigilance of the employees and their adherence to the safety procedures and their keenness to follow the safety regulations and training in the use of safety equipment.

 

Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Company’s Chief Executive, commented the following on this occasion: “This achievement was reached due to the Company employees’ commitment to the principles of safety and their full awareness to the value of professional responsibility, considering the challenges faced during COVID-19 pandemic”.

 

Following to the recent achievements, the Company have received the International Safety Award in the Kingdom of Bahrain “Best in Country Award” 2021 from the British Safety Council in the United Kingdom. In addition, to receiving “Merit” - International Safety Award from the British Safety Council in the United Kingdom, 2nd Place - Division one International Safety Awards, the Perfect Record Award and the Award for achieving 6 million hours without lost-time accidents, in which all received from the Gas Processors Association in the United States of America.

 

The occupational safety methodology is constantly primed within all the Company’s facilities, through a strict adherence to the international standards set by well-known specialized bodies in safety affairs, added the Chief Executive. This achievement reaffirms the Company’s full commitment to the highest of standards in the field of occupational safety.

 

 Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa continued by praising the unlimited support in which the Company receives from the Kingdom’s wise leadership and the diligent follow-up of H.H. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, H.M. the King’s representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Board of Directors Chairman of the Oil and Gas Holding Company B.S.C. (Nogaholding), through His continuous guidance which constitutes an impetus for achieving more accomplishments that realize to the prosperity of our beloved Kingdom and aid the development of this vital and important sector, to ensure the preservation and sustainability of its resources, in order to achieve Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

 

The Chief Executive also stressed the important role portrayed by the Company's Board of Directors in supporting everything that would elevate Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas) and take it to the highest levels.

 

At the end of his remarks, Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa stated that the next goal is to achieve 9 million working hours without a lost time accident, expressing his great confidence that the employees’ continued vigilance and their constant keenness to implement safety measures in their work field would ultimately achieve this goal, wishing the Company employees every success in achieving the desired goal.
