Group Chief Executive Officer of the Oil & Gas Holding Company B.S.C. (nogaholding) visit to Banagas

Mr. Mark Thomas, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Oil & Gas Holding Company B.S.C. (nogaholding), visited the Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas) where he was received by Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive, and the Company's Executive Management. The Chief Executive welcomed Mr. Thomas and congratulated him on his appointment as Group Chief Executive Officer of the Oil & Gas Holding Company B.S.C. (nogaholding).

 

The Executive Management presented to Mr. Mark Thomas the Company's history, achievements and development over the years followed by an update on the Bahrain Gas Plant Project. The Bahrain Gas Plant Project, was one of the strategic initiatives undertaken by the Oil & Gas Holding Company as part of the expansion and modernization plans in the oil and gas sector, in line with the Bahrain Economic vision 2030 of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the aspirations of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister and the support of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oil and Gas Holding Company B.S.C. (nogaholding). This project is expected to significantly contribute towards the enrichment of the oil and gas sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

 

During the visit, the Company's achievements in the fields of Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, Production and Social Responsibility were also highlighted. Additionally, Mr. Thomas was also briefed on the “Best in Country Award” from British Safety Council, United Kingdom, for the year 2021, in recognition of its outstanding performance in the field of Health, Safety and Environment over 4 decades of operations.

 

Mr. Thomas, accompanied by Dr. Shaikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive, and the Executive Management also visited the Control Room at the Central Gas Plant where he was briefed on the Company’s efforts to identify and adopt the latest technologies in the field of oil and gas processing.

 

Mr. Thomas appreciated the Company for its various national and international recognitions and achievements. He reiterated that these awards are a testament of the high work ethics and standards maintained by the Company over the many years.

 

He appreciated the dedication of the Bahraini workforce and their contribution in ensuring successful operations of major industrial projects. He praised the distinctive contribution of the Company towards the economy and development of the Kingdom of Bahrain and wished the Company and its employees further success and prosperity in the future.
