Safety is an ever-present part of daily life at Banagas. To safeguard life and property Banagas enforces the most stringent regulations for safe working procedures at all facilities, following closely the health and safety requirements of the international gas industry as a whole.
Proactive measures are taken to ensure all company activities are carried out in accordance with the highest standards of safety best practices. Monthly departmental meetings on Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) are held together with Committee meetings to discuss and improve safety practices within the Company. We have implemented Work permit procedures, SHE inspections and audits, training and awareness campaigns and conducted investigations to prevent recurrence of incidents.
All new recruits receive an induction course in safety awareness as the very first part of their training. Through extensive training and preparation, and developing both proactive and reactive safety systems Banagas has established and maintains an excellent safety record without a lost time incident.
Our safety practices have been recognized every year since 1981 by leading international organizations such as the Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) in the United Kingdom, the Gas Processors Association of America and the National Safety Council, also of the USA.
Banagas was first overseas company ever to receive RoSPA’s Gold Award five years in a row – and went on to win the award for a further three years before being granted the RoSPA President’s Award in 1992. The Company’s commitment to safety has now been recognized with certification to OHSAS 18001:2007, widely seen as the world’s foremost occupational health and safety management systems standard.
